Now THIS is winter!! Family photos in the snow!

It was a beautiful morning when I met this family at Spruce Meadows.  It was so quiet, you could almost hear the snow falling.  The hoarfrost on the trees, the snow softly falling.....it was magical.  Add a fun family and it was perfect!

Rick and Tasha, thank you for trusting me with capturing this moment in time of your lovely family.  I had a great time playing in the snow and capturing some of my 2012 favourites!!

I love this shot!  I asked them to get closer and Rick told me that's how they ended up with 4 kids.....they weren't thinking of adding to the family..... :-)

An Almost Wintery Wonderland....then it warmed up-The Burrill Family Photos

I'll admit it.....I'm a summer girl...no shame there.....just love.summer.  But.....there are a few things that I do like about winter.....and one of them? Hoarfrost. Yes, the glorious appearance of frozen snow upon the branches, blades of grass, leaves and structure.....like love it.  I had been itching to go out and shoot in last week's gorgeous yummy light with the hoarfrost.....and low and behold....I got an email from Marsha asking if I was available to do a family photo session....of course!  

Me- When?  

Marsha -Well....I love how wintery it looks outside right now....

Me- Okay....we'll have to move fast to catch this snowiness..... 

Marsha -sure...how about tomorrow?  

Me - Whhaaaaat? Really? OKAY!!

So....the very next afternoon (at the yummy light time) I met up with the Burrill family.  Sadly I watched the frost quickly melt off the trees about 2 hours before our start time.  Thankfully the east side of the trees were still snowy looking!  That is the peril of living in the foothills....you never ever know what's going to happen weather wise.  Anyways.....I had a great time wandering around the park with the family and was so appreciative of the great light and gorgeous smiles I had to work with!

Trista - Wandering through the streets.....Calgary Lifestyle Photographer

I met Trista on a cold October Friday afternoon.  I had some time to kill between photoshoots and mentioned to my sister Jen that we should have some play time with our cameras.  So trusty old Facebook came through for us!  Jen posted asking if anyone was interested in letting us shoot them while we checked out downtown Regina with our cameras.  Trista replied and we were set!

After meeting up with Trista I discovered that it was actually her birthday and she was in the middle of getting ready for a big party......I LOVED the fact that she put her party plans on hold so she could get some new images!  Trista has style and I enjoyed wandering through the alleys of Regina stopping and setting up shots for an hour or so.  She raised her eyebrows at me a couple of times but I hope when she sees what I got she'll understand!

Thanks again Trista for letting Jen and I shoot you!  It was fun and I certainly enjoyed getting to know you a little better. Hope your party was fun and that you were celebrated!!

Radiant - A Country Girl at Heart - Calgary Beauty Glamour Photographer

I had the pleasure of driving out east of the city a couple weeks ago and spending the afternoon with a new friend.  Sandra teaches at a small school outside of Calgary and asked me if I'd be interested in coming out to the country to do a photo shoot.  I never say no to travelling! And was looking forward to shooting outside of Calgary and having a little bit of a country vibe in the photos!

Sandra? Ya she knocked this session out of the park!  How gorgeous is this woman?  One of the first things she mentioned when booking our session is that she just wanted to take some time and celebrate herself.  Just an hour or two to focus on her and capture this moment in time.  And capture we did!  We found a rather generous gentleman that allowed us to wander around his barnyard and hang with his horses and a donkey!  Sandra was amazing with the camera and I loved that I could capture her gorgeous smile!

Thanks again Sandra, I had a great time, I hope you enjoy the images!

The Holloway Kids - Calgary Family Photography

I never tire of photographing these faces....they've have definitely changed over the years and I count myself privileged that I've been able to capture them!  These faces make me smile.  These faces bring many memories.  These faces are fun. And I love them!

Shanley Rocks her Dress - Calgary Wedding Photographer

It was cool and a little windy that Friday afternoon and in true country girl form Shan put up with the cold and totally rocked her dress!  We met up in a park in Regina Saskatchewan and wandered through the gorgeous fall colours!  Shanley was so fun to shoot, every moment resulted in laughter!  But when I asked her to lose her smile for a shot or two she shone!  The camera loved her!  And how gorgeous are her eyes???
