K and A's Wedding Party!

Here are a few images from K and A's wedding reception and dance from their wedding earlier this summer .  It was a beautiful evening and the sunlight shining through the windows of the the Cresmont Residence Hall lent to some gorgeous lighting opportunities!

The food was amazing thanks to Roma Catering and the hall look amazing with the environment being enhanced with purple and orange on the chair covers and tables.  I especially loved their seating chart or seating envelopes.

Enjoy the images!

Megan and Brooke- Mother-Daughter Love - Calgary Family Photography

I had the priviledge of spending a gorgeous summer evening with two beautiful young women....(I can say young women because when you're almost 40 everyone under 35 is young!!).  We met up in a downtown park and spent some time wandering around snapping photos and just hanging out.  Megan's brother joined us for the session and I found myself thinking that I wish I had more images like this from my childhood.  There was always a camera around but we weren't often intentional about grabbing specific photos.  Lots of candids in my scrapbooks, but would love some more pointed shots.

Anyways, I had a great time with the three of them and was constantly struck by how poised and graceful Brooke was and how she and Megan loved each other.  I thoroughly enjoyed my evening with them and got some images that will be in my 2011 Summer Favorites!!

Thanks again Megan, I had a great time!  Enjoy the photos!

Jamie and Candice Got Married! Calgary Wedding Photography

The night before their wedding was a doozy.....the girls were partying all night long contemplating hitting the hay around 9:30 and decided that having a 9 in the bedtime was rather lame and pushed themselves to hang out until a respectable 10:30.  Early? I think not! Considering the time they had to get up and get ready for a 12 noon wedding ceremony!  Remnants of a night of partying were evident, wine bottles and M&M's lay on the table alongside the token fruit platter.  Bedtime aside, these lovely ladies were raring to go by the time I got there.  Candice had a great group of friends and sisters surrounding her, I had a great time getting to know them.

Aahhh...Candice and Jamie....what a beautiful wedding and lovely wedding day!  These two?....the real deal......love oozing everywhere......oozing in a good way.....I had the easiest job on Saturday....just point the camera and shoot.  Very little direction was given to them as they were enjoying the chance to be alone.  In fact I had a little trouble getting them to focus on my camera a couple of times!  But that is a great problem to have if I thought of it as a problem.  Taking wedding photos always gives me a great insight into a couple and with these two I saw a LOT of love, smiles and laughter....all good things to see.

I do believe they had the fastest Catholic ceremony I've ever been at...it probably helped that the priest's homily went missing and he had to wing it!  He did a great job and I'm sure the parishoners at St. Bonaventure Church love him.

Candice just glowed.....mostly because of Jamie, but I do think that the staff at Alanti Hair Group helped make her shine a little more.  Beautiful bouquets from Flowers Make Memories complimented the bridal party and day perfectly.  Special thanks to my friend Charity of Charity Skeith Photography for helping out, it was fun having someone to toss ideas around with and just hang out with! Thanks Charity!

It was a great day, enjoy the images Jamie and Candice, I had a great time with you two, your family and friends and a very difficult time deciding what images to post here!

Tanya and Brian are Getting Married and I won't force feed her anything

I received an email a few weeks ago and was so pleased to read it.  It had been forwarded from my parents and it said that my cousin Tanya was getting married.  I was so excited for her and anticipating meeting Brian.  Tanya's family and mine spent a great deal of time together in our early years and many memories invovle her and her brothers.  In fact the stories that Tysen and Rylen request at bedtime sometime contain escapades including Tanya.  So I was super pleased to have Tanya and Brian ask if I'd shoot their engagement and wedding photos for them.  I agreed without hesitation!  Now I'm going to assume that Tanya has either forgotten or forgiven me for some of the escapades I put her through.  I should say we put her through.  You see she has two older brothers and I have two younger sisters and we often teamed up into two equal and fair groups for all our times together.  Tanya, Nikki and Jenni were on one team and Trevor, Ryan and myself were on another.....totally fair!  I think it was totally fair that when playing at the farm that the older team would dig holes in the garden, cover them with branches and the force the enemy to eat leaves in order to be rescued from said pit.  It was also totally fair when we'd play eat the mystery food and instead of just using one ingredient (which was the rules) we'd mix several foods which would stump them.  I could go on and on with fair play rules in the family game time but don't want to refresh Tanya's memory anymore!  Tanya was also present for one of the HUGEST hair mistakes of my life!  Yup, we decided to drive into Regina together one Saturday afternoon when we were both at the same school and I thought that a perm would be a good decision.  Tanya didn't say a thing.....hhmm....maybe that was the payback for the whole leaf eating thing! Wow. That kinda hurts!  I had to suffer through some Annie look a like comments for the next few weeks while I waited for the curls to loosen. Anyways....

I had a great time in Cochrane with Tanya and Brian last Saturday and even though we didn't make it to McKay's ice cream we still had fun!  They were totally relaxed in front of the camera and were comfortable with each other and with me!  There was lots of laughter and I was so happy to see how much Brian loves Tanya.  It was evident the whole evening and I loved watching Tanya laugh and enjoy herself with Brian!  They are a perfect fit for eachother.

One of the first things I asked them during the shoot was if they were comfortable with public displays of affection. Tanya said, " I'm okay." And Brian? well he said, "Sounds good!".  I don't think he was disappointed!  Brian is going to be great fit for the family, immediate and extended, and will be a great addition to those few and far between family reunions that we manage to plan.  I was very excited to go through the images after this evening and am soooo looking forward to their October wedding in Canmore.

 Awwww!

 Gorgeous, seriously...gorgeous!

This may be one of my favorites from the evening.

Do you see what I mean about laughing with him?  Love the smile!

 Love it. That's all.
