Camp for Ry Guy

Our house is in a bit of a crazy place right now with YWAM Hockey Camp going on. Both Garth and Tysen are busy with it every day from about 7:30 to 5:00. So that leaves me trying to find something fun for Rylen to do every day. It hasn't been too hard, he is pretty willing to do anything. If it has been boring or related to me working I just throw in a slurpee and we're great! We've hit the lake, Bubba Baloos, the backyard and Wilkins Park. The morning at Wilkins was a great time. I think Ry enjoyed himself.....I know I did! Getting to spend some extra alone time with him has been a lot of fun and I'm really trying to spend it wisely as he heads to school this fall. Sniff sniff! Anyways, so I got to hang out with my Ry Guy, a good friend with her kids and my camera!

Sadly, hockey camp ends tomorrow and I sure do wish we could have just one more day to hang out by ourselves.

Some more faces of Mt. Robson

I love hiking - it has definitely taken a back seat since having Tysen and Rylen, but I used to enjoy grabbing a snack, a water bottle, lacing up my boots and heading out. My summers spent in Canmore were amazing and I found myself hitting a trail when I had the free time. This weekend we spent at Mount Robson I hope passed on that enjoyment to my boys. They did make it the whole round trip to Kinney Lake (just down the road from the Mt. Robson visitor center) which was approximately 13 kms. So the precedent has been set! Here's to hoping that I'll be posting some more hiking shots in the near future!

The Kinney Lake hike was a great trip with a lot of amazing sights to see. Our God is so amazing and creative. What a beautiful place He created. I'm not going to wreck these sights with any more words, just enjoy what He had made.

The Many Faces of Mount Robson

I can be indecisive - even eating out for dinner can be a dilemma for me so imagine how hard it must have been to decide whether to make the trip to camp for two nights. We waffled back and forth for many days until we finally decided to just do it. Garth and I used to be adventurous but that had sadly fallen to the side in an effort to parent. But we have realized that parenting itself is an adventure and that we need to make some quick decisions and just go for it. I remember just quickly throwing a bag in our little Turismo and heading out for a weekend.... we don't do that anymore so this trip was somewhat familiar in the fact that we just decided to do it and then packed. Maybe that adventurous couple is back toting two little men too? Let's hope so!!!

Anyways, we headed out to Robson, we had a great time and were wishing we could have stayed longer (plan for next year Carly!!). It was rather relaxing due to the fact that there were 12 other children running around in our group so our boys were always entertained.
I think the highlight of the trip for me came in the 13 km round trip hike we managed on Friday afternoon in the middle of rain. It actually provided a rather nice temperature to walk in even though we did get wet. The boys made it the whole way and we only ended up piggy backing them for a short distance. We packed some energy pills for them (raspberry jujubes for Ry and chocolate covered almonds for Tys) and they were energized!
I'm thinking the highlight for Garth was either biking up the trail we hiked the next morning or taking a plunge in Kinney Lake (glacier fed lake -rather chilly!!) with no change of clothes or even a towel. Again that adventure thing kicking in again I guess.
So here are the many faces of Robson - I'll post actual Robson-esque photos next time.

Yup.... there is my man diving into the freezing cold water! Brrrrrrr!

I love the look on his face! At first I wasn't too sure if it was because of the cold or the rather immediate drop off of the lake bottom.

It can be impossible sometimes to get a good shot of these two. They are forever goofing off! Oh well, I guess that the photo is true to life!!

Alot of time was spent throwing rocks, logs and sticks into the water. Can't really believe how relaxing that is until I took time to do it.

Doesn't that smore look yummy? I almost want to lick his face just for the chocolate!

Jordan and Caitlin - Wedding

Well, today was a Saturday, the first Saturday of July, the first real Saturday of summer and what better way to celebrate than with a wedding! I got to spend the day documenting, following, laughing and hanging out with a great couple - Jordan and Caitlin. I met with them a few weeks ago to go over today and what they expected. When it came time to talk about the ceremony all I can remember Caitlin saying is that she wanted a long ceremony - waaaaaaaah? A long ceremony? About an hour she said. Wow! Interesting! I couldn't imagine a bride wanting to stand still staring at her man and not being able to really talk to him for an hour while everyone is staring at them! Most brides just want to get that ring on, kiss that man and walk out the door raring to start life together. But you know what? That time went really quickly and I think it was because the pastor had some really insightful things to share based on what Jordan and Caitlin had expressed interest in.

Jordan and Caitlin - you spoke to me today through your passion for eachother, for your family and most importantly for God. Thank you. And thank you for letting me tag along today, I sure did have fun even if we had to put up with an obscene amount of mosquitoes!

Enjoy Mexico! I hope you find yourselves spending a lot of time on the beach sticking your toes in the sand and looking back on this beautiful Spirit filled day.
Here's a shout out to Princess Flowers. Wow!
They truly are the royalty of Prince George florists!
What an amazing bouquet!

I could have stayed at Caitlin's house all afternoon just
shooting photos there! She was soooooo beautiful!
