This made me smile

I took a break the other day from "work edits" and was going through some personal photo folders that hadn't really been touched and came across this file from September 2009. I took Ry and one of his best buddies Judah to a park down by the river in PG and just watched them with my camera while they played.

I love that God blessed me with little boys and that it takes so little to entertain them. Give them a stick and a plethora of rocks infront of some water and we're good for an hour or two! Looking back it was the highlight of my day watching those two throw rocks to see whose got the biggest splash and whose went the furthest. I'm hoping that we can steal a few more of these moments in the weeks ahead as we get ready to move.

I decided to edit these a little differently than I usually do. I tend to lean towards as natural as possible when I edit. I'm not terribly fond nor gifted to extremely edit photos, I like them to look as close to natural as possible. I will often over edit a few photos for a wedding but usually leave them alone as much as possible with some little tweaks that most probably wouldn't even notice! But I notice and I like to tweak them just a little bit. Anyways, these I tweaked more than usual and actually enjoyed how they turned out. I did leave one more natural because it was fall and the colors were GEEORGEOUSSSSS!!!

Judah - Children's Photographer Prince George, BC

Doo dah, Doo dah! Judah is a very good friend of my son Rylen and for the longest time Judah was actually called Doo dah. It was very cute to watch these two grow up to be quite the adventurous and active 5 year old boys that they now are. They spent time together at the park, in Sunday School and more recently in kindergarten. Not too often anymore that you get overlap like that! But sadly that time is coming to an end! Sigh!! I actually came across a few photos I took of them earlier in the fall by the river (check back in the next day or two for those).

There is no more Doo dah calling, but I still pull it out from time to time to remind Judah's mom Jenn and I that these two are still little boys and to enjoy these moments while we have them.

I was going through my files the other day and realized that I had never posted any photos from my afternoon spent with Judah. These were taken in December on the one cold day we had that month. I opened a door for a few moments to get some natural light but we quickly closed the door when Judah mentioned that he was getting cold and asked if he could have his winter coat and mitts! Ooops! Again caught up in the moment of the photos and not paying attention!! He survived and we had a good time as I basically followed Judah around and let him take the lead as most 5 year old boys won't sit still for very long anyways!

So here is Doo dah... enjoy!

Leisinger Family- Prince George Family Photographer

I had the priviledge of meeting up with the Leisinger family just after Christmas (I know I know- what took me so long to post!!). It had been a nice week and I had spent time outside and didn't think the temperature would affect us too much. WRONG! It ended up being a little colder than we liked, but this family pushed through! Although I would suggest that appropriate footwear be chosen during these temperamental winter months. Flimsy summer time sneakers may not be the best bet for 20 below zero walking through snow drifts!

It was a fun afternoon and I got to play with my camera for a little bit after the shoot. I don't take those opportunities as much as I should in the winter. Now that things have sort of calmed down a bit I can head outside with my cameras!

The start of something favorite!!

It's been kinda crazy at my house these last few days as I'm getting my house ready to sell. There is a lot of stuff that needs to be cleaned! I have moved quite a few times in my 16 years of marriage and know that there needs to be a purge or two of stuff every year. And I do that, so I CANNOT imagine how it would be to move if you've never gotten rid of stuff before. The staff at the Salvation Army smiled widely when my van pulled up! It's such a cathartic feeling to get rid of stuff you don't use anymore.

Because of that busyness of cleaning and packing I hadn't had the opportunity to share some of my favorites of 2009. Note that I said some.... SOME! This entry only contains some of the weddings from this year, I'll make another entry in a couple of days with more of my favorites. I tried to be intentional and not post ones that had been posted previously, but if I duplicated, I'm sorry. I had a hard time whittling down each wedding to 3 favorites each. I could have posted many many more of each couple, but time was an issue.

Enjoy these photos and come back in a couple of days to see more of my favorites - I may actually post several favorites of the year as I'm not shooting too much right now. So this may become a favorite blog for a week or two with maybe something different posted in there now and then. Which one is your favorite?

Have a great day, I've gotta get back to my storage room. Sigh..... a few more days until we list the house and then things will have to slow down.... can't have the house full of boxes while we sell!!
