The Bacon Family - Calgary Family Photography

I had a great time hanging out with the Bacon family on Canada Day.  They were all together for the weekend and realized that they needed some new images for their walls as the family had changed quite a bit since their last photos.

What a fun group to hang out at Fish Creek Park with!  It is apparent that these guys like to laugh together as I found myself laughing out loud with them.  They were troopers and managed to relax and smile in spite of the swarms of mosquitoes.  I'm certain we used up a whole bottle of OFF!

It was a pleasure spending time with this family and I hope they enjoy the images we created together!

Paul and Christina - Calgary Wedding Photography

Saturday was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the air was warm and Christina and Paul were ready to say I do.  Christina exuded calm and peace as she got ready and her bridesmaids were so good for her!

The day was full of laughter, music and family.  Christina's mom had passed away 2 1/2 years ago and even though she wasn't present in body, her presence was felt throughout the day.  She was close to Christina's heart all day long in the locket that she wore inscribed with the word MOM.

Christina also honored Paul's daughter Taylor in sharing vows and a locket with her.  The ceremony was held outdoors at the gorgeous Cottonwood Golf and Country Club amidst the trees on the course island.  Paul and Christina put a lot of thought into their ceremony and I think my favorite part was their music selection,  Christina walked down the aisle to "I wanna grow old with you." .

As I said it was a family affair on this day and talent's from family and friends popped up everywhere!  Paul's Mom, Joan made all the bouquets, a friend Tara did Christina's makeup and another friend make the cake. Talk about talented friends!

I'll stop typing now so you can see the day for yourself. Stay tuned for images from the party.  Congratulations Paul and Christina...it was a beautiful day and a great start to married life!

A high five before the kiss!

Love Christina's smile in this one!
Just beautiful!

I think this may be one of my faves of the day so far...these two were always laughing!

Thomas and Leanne's Party - Calgary Wedding Photography

Thomas and Leanne know how to throw a party!  From the moment they entered the reception room at the Delta South everyone was have a great time laughing and visiting.  Decor was taken care of by Sonia of Enriched Events and Leanne's Mom....elegant is the word that immediately came to mind...that and yummy....Thomas and Leanne provided a candy bag for their guests to fill as a take home treat....everyone LOVED that candy bar including the hard to pronounce Dutch candies that were a hit with the groom's family!!

The Cakery Bakery created a beautiful and tasty cake for the guests to enjoy.  And as you can see in the photos below that Thomas and Leanne enjoyed a little bit more than everyone else!

Kat, of Signature Sounds got the party hopping with some great song selection and kept the dance floor full.  Leanne barely moved off that dance floor and showed all her guests how she could dance the night away.

It was a great evening and the party was so much fun to be part of.  Thomas and Leanne it was a beautiful day and I'm thankful that you asked me to be part of it.  Enjoy the images below!

Thomas and Leanne Got Married and I got to use my new word again!!

I'm sure that Leanne was wondering exactly what I was doing as I followed her into the washroom to shoot images of her brushing her teeth.  She laughed when I mentioned that I would be her little shadow the whole day through and that even the most mundane things would be recorded. The laughter was a great start to a fun filled day.  I was fortunate enough to spend Saturday with Leanne, Thomas, their family and friends as they celebrated their marriage.  It was a beautiful day, Leanne was glowing, Thomas smiled the whole day and their guests partied along with them.

I created a new word during the edits of Thomas and Leanne's engagement session - gorgeousity....and I referred to it throughout their wedding day.  Leannne was gorgeous...she oozed gorgeousity.  From the moment I saw her I kept thinking of a 40's movie star, she looked like she belonged in that era.  And part of that look is thanks to Erica of Perfection Hair and Makeup.  She did an amazing job on the wedding party's hair and make up....all done in sitting room where the light was amazing!!

I had a great time shooting their photos and can't believe how quickly the day went by! I love it when a wedding planner is around for the day and this day ran so smoothly and was planned so well by Sonia of Enriched Events.  Hope we get to work again sometime Sonia!  Yet again I had difficulty picking out my favorites and these are only a few......enjoy!  Stay tuned for images from their party in the next couple of days.
